The course is a High School Preparation course that may be studied from 1-40 weeks.

 

Course Overview

This course prepares students to successfully improve English Language and study skills in preparation for entry to Australian High schools. The course focuses on the four macro skills of Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking with particular emphasis on the associated and appropriate grammar and vocabulary skills required to achieve CEF levels A1; A2- B1; B1-B2 and B2 at the completion of the Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate levels of the course respectively. Through this course, students will develop language skills and cultural awareness to effectively use and understand English language in familiar contexts. Throughout the course students will undertake different grammar and vocabulary activities based on a real life theme that will help students to gain confidence and competence in preparation for studying in Australian High Schools.

 

Course rationale:

This course is a Australian High School entry preparation course, that allows students to learn and prepare for studies in Australian High Schools. Teachers will assist students to work on grammar and vocabulary in context of real life events and situations while systematically building on their language skills. A Key feature of this program is a special focus on functional language for underage students. The course comprises of fortnightly assessments based on topics covered in the previous two weeks to assess student progress. Throughout the course teachers will be able to assist students to achieve the maximum result in their review conducted in weeks 1, 3, 5, 7and week 9 of the program. There also formative assessment fortnightly in week 2, 4, 6. 8 and 10. Reviews are to give students the experience and be aware of their progress  and provide opportunity for students to make improvement based on feedback from the trainer. All the assessment outcomes will be recorded in the academic record sheets and students are informed of their result the following week after the assessment has been conducted.
